Here is my violin and a piece of old sheet music for my version of Silence. I haven’t played in many years but haven’t been able to part with it yet. I debated if I should have put the focus on the music instead of the violin, what is your thought? ISO 400, f/5.0, 1/100 sec, handheld. Upped the exposure and level in LR, Added preset (added the nice center glow), highpass (added extra clarity to the violin) and texture (2LO Whisper 7) layers in PS after using healing brush on a bit of old tape that was unfortunately left on the old sheet music too long.
I took a photo December 24th last year as I was waiting for this class to begin. I had signed up for this class because I had this camera my husband and I bought to replace a point and shoot one that had died. We reasoned we would enjoy having a DSLR that could do more than the point and shoot. Fast forward almost two years and it had been used it only a handful of times and not very successfully. So as part of my homework from Ricky to learn your camera before class, I got up early that day last year and was so surprised to see this: https://www.millerclarke.com/My-First-Gallery/i-nfKL5Dd/A I was hoping to get that same effect for this week’s challenge, but it was not to be. That just reiterates Ricky’s lesson about always having your camera with you and stopping to take that photograph because you might not get a chance to again. This sunrise was taken ISO 1000 (Can you believe I forgot to look at my ISO setting after taking pictures in a darkened room on Christmas Day? Sigh.), f/9, 1/2000/sec. Cropped a little off the bottom. Adjustments in the noise reduction sliders, but no color changes whatsoever. Some of you may recall a similar photo for the Find A Line challenge in which my photo was the cautionary tale of “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should”. https://www.millerclarke.com/2018-Photo-Class/i-bjcWKqQ/A I bring that up because I think the intense color of this photo is somewhat similar to that long-ago photo. A little ironic!
