2017 was a challenging year in the garden. Maybe 2018 is the year to grow.....seed catalogs!
Practicing depth of field with Small as the topic. Precious cute photo bomber!
Out of Focus Photo Challenge 2018
My original thought for this challenge was to put a portion of this Christmas decoration out of focus to elicit the mood of Christmas. But then I saw my out of focus reflection and decided that made for a better out of focus "focus".
Driver's side window of a beautifully restored 1970 Chevrolet pickup truck. The LOF label proclaiming this is an original window is visible. Does the debris make you want to pick up a cleaning rag?
Red Flower in Winter
A rescued hanging plant from last summer in bloom this winter. Appreciation?
A good morning includes a juicy honeybell orange along with reading the daily comic section of the local paper.
Captured early morning light boucing off buildings in the distance. I see a wood creature with a long nose getting ready to chop down on a tasty piece of wood. Can you see the little eyes, ears and skinny long nose looking at you as you interupt his breakfast? I spy a big mouth with a narrow bit of jaw showing just below that limb.
We had a flock of 9 wild turkeys visit one day. What a treat! They were moving around quickly. It was windy with fast moving clouds causing the sun to be out and then hidden, all making for challenging photography. The turkeys knew we were watching them and they occasionally watched back, like this fellow. Looking at pictures on the internet I can't decide if we had Merriam's or Rio Grande wild turkeys. We got to enjoy their sounds and strutting displays while they foraged in our neighborhood.
Captured my husband's feet on a footpath in our yard. I like that the cat statue is looking up at him as he passes. I also like the sense of movement in the blurred shoe and jeans.
Another angle of the wonderful old gate and fence section in my neighbor's yard.
Another shot of the old fence section in my neighbor's yard.
This is a portion of a beautiful old gate my neighbors have installed in their backyard. Love this fence.
In honor of Easter week I chose eggs as the subject for the "Broken" challenge. By the time I had another idea (a metal rooster from my garden I thought might be fun having looking over the poor broken shell) I wanted to try we had eaten the eggs so this is the image for this week!
Is it a handlebar mustache or is it an enormous smile? Either way, this little bird was enjoying the meal worms!
Janaya and River having a little love fest. What sweeties they both are!
This is my favorite tree in my yard. (Shhh, don't tell the others!) Just when the buds are starting to open, we get another snow. So it came to mind that Spring is "In the Distance", haha. It will come eventually!
Getting set up for a photo shoot, waiting for the sun to get a little lower, who shows up? The helper! Haha. Used a 2LilOwls texture.
The student I tutor for reading gave me this lovely bouquet at the end of the semester shindig. How timely that the challenge for this week was flowers! I was terribly allergic to the lilies unfortunately, so after this photo session was complete they went bye-bye. I know my student will be tickled next semester when I show her the photos I took of her gift to me.
